The Country Kettle Cafe in beautiful downtown Alto
a delicately balanced blend of southern, soul, retro and wi-fi

The Country Kettle is located in beautiful downtown Alto, in the heart of East Texas.  Alto is the highest point on the El Camino Real between the Angelina and Neches Rivers.  Both of the big roads (US Highway 69 and Texas Highway 21) lead to the Red Light, the hub of commerce and industry in our fair town.  You can see us from the Red Light.

The Kettle consistently serves up good food and has a priviate dining room, but it is not a restaurant; it's a cafe, which means you don't have to dress up. The Country Kettle offers a high speed WI-FI connection, with enough capacity to connect as many laptops as you care to bring.  But, in all fairness to those of you who are accustomed to sipping coffee with funny-sounding names while you surf, understand that this is not a trendy cyber cafe.  All we do is provide the connection.  You must bring your own culture and refinement.  And be warned:  We use ordinary municipal water to brew our coffee so that we can serve it for 65 cents a cup.

The Kettle is open daily, with the lunch bar being the long-established favorite among locals and travelers as well.  You don't have to be all the way hungry to dine, since everything is priced per item.  If you only need a little, then you'll only spend a little.  Nothing is expensive, so bon appetit, dudes!
